Recipes For A Healthier You
~ 1 cup raw almonds
~ 3 cups filtered water
~ 3 pitted dates
~ 1/2 tsp salt
~ 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
~ a dash of cinnamon (optional)
Directions: Blend all ingredients on high for 4 minutes, (high speed blender recommended). Refrigerate to chill, enjoy in your coffee, cereal, or right out of a glass!
Cucumber Avocado Salad
~ 2 cucumbers
~ 1 avocado
~ 1 lemon
~ black ground pepper
Directions: Wash cucumber, slice and then quarter the cucumber discs. Peel and pit the avocado, chop into smaller pieces similar to the quartered cucumber. Put both cucumber and avocado into a large mixing bowl, squeeze the juice of 1 whole lemon over contents, add a few dashes of pepper. Mix with a large spoon and place it in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Eat chilled.
Baked Apple "Pie"
~ 1 medium Granny Smith apple
~ 1/8 cup of plain oats
~ 1/2 tbsp. brown sugar
~ 1 tbsp. of almond milk (or any of your choice)
~ cinnamon and nutmeg (optional)
Directions: Cut into the apple, making a hole from the top portion, and scoop our the core/seeds. There should be most of the apple remaining on the inside with a wide opening at the top. Fill the apple with the plain oats, brown sugar, milk, and cinnamon and nutmeg sprinkled over the top. Place on a baking sheet, and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Serve warm.
The Doctor's Breakfast Smoothie
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1 handful of carrots
- 1 Cut applie
- 1 handful kale and/or dark leafy greens
- 1 cup frozen wild blueberries
- 1 Isagenix shake mix, protein mix, or spirulina
- 1 glass of ice
- Unsweetened almond milk or water
Directions: Add apple, banana, and carrots to 1.5 cups of water or unsweetened almond milk and blend. Add kale and/or some dark leafy green vegetables and blend. Add 1 cup frozen wild blueberries and Isagenix shake mix. Add a glass of ice and blend until smooth. Add water as necessary to get desired consistency.
